¡Enfoca! app for iPhone and iPad

Enfoca was created initially to provide a way to save, organize and study new vocabulary.

As your skills grow with a new language and you start to read stories with new vocabulary you need a way to review those terms and commit them to long term memory.

That is where Enfoca comes in.

Say you read a short story, you encounter some words that are new to you. You look up the word in a dictionary or online to find it’s meaning. If your memory is like mine, you’ll need to review the word a number of times in order to really remember it. Now that you have the word and it’s meaning you can add it to Enfoca. When you add the word you can create a tag which in this example could be the title of the short story. Repeat this process adding and tagging all of the words that you struggle with in this story.

Later, you can use Enfoca to review the words sing the Quiz feature and keep track of your score.

The quiz module allows you to study the term in a variety of ways. The standard method way is to use your Tags to narrow down the group of words then choose what priority the Quiz generator should use in selecting words from that tag.

Enfoca allows you to create multiple dictionaries, in multiple languages which provides you with a number of ways to organize your lists of words. The words in your dictionaries are always saved to iCloud so don’t worry about upgrading your iOS device, or moving from an iPhone to an iPad or vice versa. Your dictionaries are safe in the cloud.
